Nordi Mukiele, defender for Paris Saint-Germain, is of interest to Arsenal.

Nordi Mukiele, a defender for Paris Saint-Germain, is apparently appealing to Arsenal during the current transfer window.

During the summer season, the 26-year-old was linked to Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich; however, that move now seems doubtful since the Bavaraians are expected to sign Sacha Boey from Galatasaray instead.

After spending around £200 million in the summer to buy players like Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber, the Gunners were anticipated to remain relatively quiet during the transfer window.

However, Mikel Arteta’s team has suffered several defensive line injuries this season. According to a report from Football London, Arsenal may aim to strengthen their defence this month.

According to the source, PSG is willing to allow the French defender to go on a temporary basis during the current transfer window, and the North London team views Mukiele joining the Gunners till the end of the season as a risk-free move.

The bulk of the season has seen Thomas Partey and Timber out due to injury, while Oleksandr Zinchenko, Ben White, and Takehiro Tomiyasu have all missed many weeks of action this season.

The health of England international Rice and Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes, who were substituted in the second half of their most recent game against Crystal Palace, is another area of worry.

Regarding Rice’s exit, Arteta made the following comment after the game: “No, he was feeling some tightness.”I am unsure about the muscle in question. However, it’s clear that we don’t want to take any chances when he says that at 3-0.”

Regarding Magalhaes, the Arsenal manager continued, saying, “The same with big Gabi.” It was appropriate to remove him off the pitch since he was experiencing some pain after a tackle in the first half and was having some difficulty.”

Although Mukiele can play centre defence and down the right wing, PSG boss Luis Enrique has had trouble getting him into the starting lineup.

At Parc des Princes, the 26-year-old is unquestionably Achraf Hakimi’s backup at right back; however, he is also in competition with Carlos Soler and Warren Zaire-Emery for a starting position.

This season, the defender has only made seven appearances in Ligue 1 and has only made 10 appearances for the team overall.

With 21 games played, Arsenal have 43 points, which puts them in third place in the Premier League standings, five points behind leaders Liverpool.

Tuesday night, the Gunners will play their first league match when they visit the City Ground to play Nottingham Forest.
