NFL Playoffs: Chiefs defeat Bills, Lions defeat Buccaneers

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills 27–24 in Sunday’s Divisional playoff game, keeping them in the running for consecutive Super Bowl titles.

The Andy Reid team won 27-24 in the NFL’s 55th meeting between the two storied rivals to go on to the AFC Championship game, where the Baltimore Ravens will be waiting.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes defeated Josh Allen of the Bills in another thrilling head-to-head match, throwing for 215 yards and two touchdowns to Travis Kelce, but the defending NFL champs still needed to make up a four-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

With 14 minutes left in the game, Isiah Pacheco’s four-yard run gave the Chiefs a slim lead again, which they held onto to go a step closer to winning back-to-back Super Bowls.

After the Detroit Lions defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31–23, they advanced to their first NFC Championship game in thirty-three years, and now one of the two teams will face off in the AFC Championship game.

Josh Reynolds and Amon-Ra St. Brown both scored touchdowns on Jared Goff passes, and while the Bucs answered both times, a late Derrick Barnes interception on Baker Mayfield made sure the Lions would play for the championship for just the second time in their history.
