Spurs “overcame Barcelona to sign Lucas Bergvall”

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur signed Lucas Bergvall, a promising player for Djurgardens IF, ahead of Barcelona.

Many big teams are interested in the 17-year-old, who is regarded as one of the best talents in European football.

Three goals have been scored in 29 games since Bergvall’s January 2023 debut for Djurgardens, a top-tier Swedish team.

Due to his impressive domestic play, the midfield player received his first call-up to the national team last month. On January 12, he played 12 minutes in Sweden’s friendly victory against Estonia.

Journalist David Ornstein claims that Tottenham has defeated Barcelona in this week’s competition for the services of highly regarded Bergvall.

According to the story, the 18-year-old will go to England on Friday to undergo a medical examination at Spurs’ training base in London.

Bergvall is expected to sign a five-year contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, securing his North London career until 2029.

The midfield player is expected to cost Spurs a set €10 million (£8.5 million), plus a variety of performance-related add-ons.

The Swedish Allsvenskan season begins in mid-February, so the midfield player will be sent right back on loan to Djurgardens until the summer.

Although it was widely speculated that Bergvall and Xavi’s Barcelona were nearing an agreement, it is thought that Spurs have persuaded the player to go to England.

The Swede visited Tottenham’s stadium and training area on Monday, where he met head coach Ange Postecoglou and chairman Daniel Levy.

Tuesday was similar for Bergvall in Barcelona, although the La Liga powerhouses are said to have lost out on their transfer goal.

Bergvall, whom Manchester United allegedly wanted to sign earlier this month, is reportedly interested in joining Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.
