Ivan Perisic’s stint in north London is over, as he has left Tottenham to play the remainder of the season on loan at Hadjuk Split.
Perisic played in Spurs’ first six games of the new season under Ange Postecoglou before suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in September.
With his contract scheduled to expire this summer and an arrangement in place for the Croatian international to accept a loan with Hajduk, the serious knee injury cast doubt on Perisic’s ability to play for Tottenham again.
Raised in Split, Perisic advanced through Hajduk’s youth but never played for his childhood team until moving to Sochaux in 2006. He then had stints at Club Brugge, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, and finally Spurs.
The 34-year-old has always said that he wants to end his career at Hadjuk, and even if he is unable to play during his season-long loan, it is anticipated that he will sign a permanent contract with the Croatian team this summer.
According to the PA news agency, Tottenham and Club Brugge have begun negotiations on the recruitment of forward Antonio Nusa.
The 18-year-old has always piqued Spurs’ attention, and this month they took action to sign the highly regarded Norway international.
According to PA, Nusa’s prospective signing would make him Tottenham’s third acquisition in the January transfer window. However, he would spend the rest of the season on loan at Club Brugge.
Since making his debut in the Norwegian first division at the age of 16 in 2021 while attending Stabaek, Nusa has established a solid reputation.
Later that year, he transferred to Club Brugge, where his Champions League debut goal against Porto made headlines.
Spurs have kept a watch on Nusa, who scored a goal against Jordan in September to mark his full Norway debut.
Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin were previously signed by Postecoglou this month.
Hugo Lloris and Eric Dier, two long-serving players, have left Spurs, while Djed Spence, Japhet Tanganga, Ash Phillips, Sergio Reguilon, and Alfie Devine have all found new teams for the second half of the season.
Ryan Sessegnon, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Bryan Gil are targets for Tottenham, but despite a lot of interest from loan companies, young players Alfie Dorrington and Jamie Donley will likely stay in Postecoglou’s starting lineup.
