Marcus Rashford is a target for Arsenal’s summer transfer.

According to reports, Arsenal is closely monitoring Marcus Rashford’s circumstances at Manchester United in preparation for a potential summer transfer of the forward.

Despite making 26 appearances across all competitions, the 26-year-old has only managed four goals and six assists, hardly exhibiting his finest form for the Red Devils during the 2023–24 season.

Following the events of last week, there has been a lot of conjecture about his future in the days that have passed. The Manchester United academy product was seen out on Wednesday and Thursday nights before missing training on Friday due to illness.

The team said that Rashford was not playing in Sunday’s FA Cup match against Newport County because of illness, but head coach Erik ten Hag stated after the match that he would “deal with” the matter.

Man United issued a statement on Monday attesting to the fact that the “internal matter” had been resolved, and Ten Hag restated this position at his news conference on Wednesday.

With the 26-year-old attacker scheduled to play against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday, Ten Hag said that the situation was “closed” and that he “has taken responsibility” for his conduct.

According to rumours, the nightclub drama has infuriated his teammates, and Paris Saint-Germain may rekindle their interest in him this summer.

Manchester United is reportedly eager to move on from the events of last week and has no plans to trade Rashford, but Football Insider reports that Arsenal is closely monitoring the situation.

According to the source, the Gunners had a strong interest in Rashford in the summer of 2022 and may do so again in the summer transfer window.

In all competitions, Rashford has made 385 appearances for Manchester United, tallying 127 goals and 74 assists along the way.

In 56 games across all competitions, the attacker recorded 30 goals and 11 assists in 2022–23, the finest season of his career.

The attacker has only scored three goals in the Premier League in 2023–24, however, as he has had difficulty staying consistent this season.

Rashford received an enhanced contract with Manchester United last summer, and his current deal at Old Trafford is set to expire in June 2028.

This summer, Arsenal will likely need a new striker, as head coach Mikel Arteta seems to be looking to replace both Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus.
